Inspired by the warmth of the Mediterranean sun, Glenmorangie Bacalta – Gaelic for ‘baked’ – is a radiant, richly flavoured single malt and the eighth release in our acclaimed Private Edition series.

To create Bacalta, we finished our whisky in bespoke American oak casks, baked under the Madeira sun and seasoned with Malmsey – the sweetest and most prized style of Madeira wine. These casks bring out layers of honeyed complexity, luscious fruit and a whisper of spice, echoing sun-drenched desserts and golden evenings.

The nose reveals aromas of baked peaches, apricot tart, and honeycomb. The palate is smooth and rounded, with notes of caramelised citrus, almond toffee and creamy vanilla, leading to a gently spiced, lingering finish.

Non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, Glenmorangie Bacalta is a golden, sun-soaked celebration of our passion for wood finishing and innovation.
