Glenmorangie Allta – Gaelic for "wild" – is a pioneering whisky that begins not with barley or casks, but with something far more microscopic: yeast. As the tenth release in our Private Edition series, Allta marks a quiet revolution – the first Glenmorangie crafted from a native wild yeast, discovered growing on our very own Cadboll barley.
This unique strain of Saccharomyces diaemath brings a new dimension to our spirit – unlocking rich, fruity and creamy flavours that lie hidden in the fermentation process. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels, the resulting whisky is smooth, mellow, and deeply characterful.
On the nose, you’ll find notes of biscuit, floral citrus and ripe banana. The palate opens into bursts of creamy vanilla, orange, and gentle clove, rounded off by a soft, cake-like sweetness and delicate spice.
Non-chill filtered and bottled at 51.2% ABV, Glenmorangie Allta celebrates our endless curiosity and the wonders of nature – even the tiniest ones.
